The Top 10 Depeche Mode Songs

One of Depeche Mode‘s biggest songs is their worldwide debut single “Just Can’t Get Enough”, a slice of bubblegum pop that wholly embodies the carefree, neon hued ideal of 80s new wave. It’s also one of the biggest red herrings in music history, and sounds completely incongruous in a playlist with the rest of their catalogue. Over the course of the 1980s the band grew darker and darker, both in terms of thematic content and the sound of the music itself. By the time 1990 rolled around they fully reinvented themselves as a rock band, a successful move that helped them survive while their new wave peers faded away. Here are their ten best songs.
